Music
Benjamin Bach from Danish FIFA 2000 Online has discovered something on one of the advertising boards of the stadiums in FIFA 2000. The screen shot says "Apollo Four Fourty," Apollo Four Fourty is a rock artist. It sounds almost like he will also do some music for FIFA 2000. I don't know this for sure, but I'll find out. You can look at the screen shot here.

Poll Updated
I have updated the poll, unfortunately I forgot to save the results of the old poll. The question though was, which one of the leagues in FIFA 2000 do you like most. With over 2000 votes, the turkish league was leading over England with 500 votes. Next time I'll remember to save the results =).
Thanks to Chris Davies from the official ESP site for this new poll idea.

Previews
Ric over at Soccer Gaming has posted about two new and interesting previews of FIFA 2000.
The first one is from GameSpot UK.
"As you'd expect, it's once again the officially licensed article with real players, squads and line-ups from fifteen of the world's top leagues including the Premiership, Serie A, the Spanish Leagues, the Bundusliga and even authentic rosters from the emerging US Major League Soccer. As well as all the modern giants of the game, FIFA 2000 is set to feature 40 classic teams from footballing history as well as a host of world sides and a full international line-up. This should make it one of the most comprehensive football games ever, with the team count currently topping 850."
You can check out the rest here.
Another preview s available at Games.net.
"Topping the list of gameplay enhancements are FIFA 2000's new player maneuvers--shielding and jostling. Shielding will give gamers more control over their ball-handlers: Touch this new button, and your ball-handler will turn his back to the opposing defender in an effort to shield the ball from enemy possession. You can use this tactic to buy your squad the precious time needed to move into striking position. Jostling will be an automatic maneuver whenever two opposing players are within arm's length. The goal: to gain position on the pitch using your hands, arms, and body to interrupt the flow of your opponent's movement. These two features alone add incredible depth to the franchise."
You can read the whole preview here.

Features
GameReactor has posted more info and features that are in FIFA 2000. Here they are:
- The reporter said that he saw a 75 percent finished product.
- Now it's possible to shield the ball from an opponent.
- The goalnet reacts much more when you score a goal.
- Numbers of camera angels are decreased to only four, but you can adjust the zoom and height so it adapts each player. This seemed to work fine.
- Robbie Williams is going to make a special song, just for FIFA 2000 and his new music video is going to contain clips from FIFA 2000. Outwards this, FIFA 2000 will have seven soundtracks, several from Mr. Williams.
- You can now play preprogrammed corners, free kicks, penalty kicks, etc. A guy from EA Sports showed the reporter a free kick which ended in a nice bicycle kick. Also said that you could design your own free kicks, corners, etc. in the training part of the game.
Thanks to Kristoffer from the FIFA 2000 Network for translating this into english.

Answers
I finally received the answers from EA Sports that I sent these out about a month ago. They were answered by Andy Abramovici, the FIFA 2000 game producer. Here they are:
1. When will www.fifa2000.com (the official FIFA 2000 site) open?
Nicky, I'm checking on this, but don't have info for you right now.
2. When will the demo be available?
Well, we can't say for sure, but I will say we should have it ready sometime in october. Remember, we are as anxious to get our FIFA 2000 Demo out there as you are to play it!
3. What is the official release date?
US is shipping Oct. 26 and Europe is shipping Oct. 29th. Keep in mind it usually takes a couple days for the game to be found in retail outlets...
4. Will FIFA 2000 be playable over the internet?
We think that we are still a year away from what we consider a consistenly fun FIFA match via the internet. Like many sports games, FIFA 2000 requires precise player timing and controller responsiveness, and from what we've seen so far, the typical internet configuration still does not allow for as smooth an experience as we'd like.
5. Will FIFA 2000 have any cheats?
The PC Version will for sure! We'll have different types of play, an extra pitch or two, and a few bonus teams.
6. What are the major improvements from FIFA 99 to FIFA 2000?
We knew going into 2000 that we wanted to add more grit and emotion into the gameplay experience. So, we incroporated barging and jostling between players, as weel as harder hitting tackles and collisions. Plus, we have added new and improved facial animation to our players which helps to relay the joy, determination and intensity they are feeling on the pitch. Another area we targeted was giving players more control over team strategies and tactics. One of the most prominent ways we addressed this was to include user-controlled set pieces. For the first time, users can choose between plays when in free kick, corner kick and throw-in situations. Some other additions we made were to make passes and through passes more pesponsive than last year, create a more aggressive CUP team AI in professional and world class modes, and add more awareness to the commentary, especially in our season and tournament modes.
7. How will relegation work? Will there be any second division teams?
As in real life, promotion and relegation means that your league will change on a yearly basis, After a season is finished, the worst teams will be relegated and replaced with a few new 2nd division teams looking for a shot at the league title. But because we have crammed over 400 of the world's greatest teams into FIFA 2000, we do not yet support the entire 2nd division leagues.
8. Controls, are the buttons the same as in the other FIFA games? Any new moves?
We tried to improve the controls without re-mapping the whole enchilada. So, the basic controls, e.g. pass, shoot, sprint are the same, but some advanced functionality got simplified. For instance, now you need to press only one button to pull off a dede, shimmy or dummy.
Hopefully this answered most of your questions.

Arrows
Kristoffer from FIFA 2000 Network has picked up some info on FIFA 2000 on a swedish gaming site. Kristoffer was able to translate it into english. Here is a part of it:
"The gameplay looks very good, this time they have included arrows. When for example you pass a ball, the arrow turns green if it is a safe pass. Yellow if is not so safe, and red if it nearly impossible."
Thanks to FIFA 2000 Network.

Indoor Mode
Kristoffer from FIFA 2000 Network has e-mailed EA Sports to ask if FIFA 2000 will have indoor mode. Here's what EA Sports replied.
No. Indoor mode would require specific programming of the AI and physics associated with playing in a smaller space, with different surfaces. If we took the main FIFA engine and 'shrunk' it down to be an indoor mode it would be poor and not the best indoor experience. As EA SPORTS games are always about realism then this would not be acceptable to us.
